FLEX Network Settings - Ethernet
The FLEX supports both Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Static IP Configuration. DHCP is "Automatic" and the most common and convenient method while STATIC requires manual configuration and knowledge of the local network.
Configuring the FLEX network settings requires accessing the device via the LAN Web User Interface. While on the same network, type the IP address of your FLEX device into your browser's URL field. (
How to locate the IP Address of your FLEX)
If you are prompted for login credentials, the default User and Password is provided on a white sticker affixed to the bottom of the FLEX.
From the Settings Tab, expand Network Settings to set the IP address assignment method used for Ethernet Connections.
- Select "Yes" for DHCP automatic assignment of IP address (DHCP host name is optional).
- Select "No" for STATIC assignment to manually enter IP address, Netmask, and Gateway IP Address.
Note: If set to "No" all fields are mandatory. The Default Method is DHCP.
If you choose, "No" for DHCP, Enter STATIC IP information and then click "Submit" in the lower right. The FLEX will then reboot to apply the STATIC IP settings.
ADVANCED SETTINGS
The information you enter for STATIC IP can be obtained from your IT Admin or your ISP. If this information is entered incorrectly, it may prohibit proper connectivity. The information provided in the example below is for illustration purposes only.

IMPORTANT
Using DHCP or STATIC IP methods for assigning an IP address is available for WIRED connections only. WIRELESS supports only the DHCP method. If you operate FLEX using a WiFi Dongle, make sure to set the Ethernet method field to DHCP = "Yes". Failing in doing so will result in the impossibility to connect your device to the wireless network.
